Warning!!! We ALL eventually turn into our parents.

No matter how many times you vowed to never be like your parents, you will. Like it or not, it just happens. It's a slow process, so slow that you can't catch it happening. The next thing you know, BAM! You're saying lines that your mother used on you, your giving time-outs like your father used to. Life doesn't come with warning labels.

I see it is a pleasant reminder of my childhood, sometimes when I catch the words coming out of my mouth, I can't help but smile. Because even though my mom and dad may not be close by, these simple, familiar words (that have been passed down by their moms and dads) make it feel as though they are standing right beside me, helping me. You may have heard your parents say "I'm sounding just like my mother!" Well, as soon as you have kids of your own, you too, will be sputtering these exact same words. But maybe with a little smile.

As your kids get older, and the parenting gets a little bit harder, you'll be grateful you have this unspoken guide to follow. I know I have. There have been times when I've been completely lost in my direction of being a parent, whether I'm being too friendly/too sturn or if I'm not too sure how to handle a sticky situation. I can look back into my own childhood for answers. And for that I'm grateful.

Now, I'm an only child, so for me being a mom to five kids there are definitely differences in my life than my parents life. We adjust, and its all because of them! Who needs warning labels? We have family to guide us thru the way of life.

This is my very first blog entry. I just wanted to share something I was thinking about today as I was going thru my daily life of a full time mom. Something you can't help but notice, and this was definitely one of them!
